The art of Luis Medrano
"One pencil, a million shades. Passion for life, for what it is and what it can be. The known and the unknown, the infinite interconnections that constitute the universe." L.M.
Surrealist artist Luis Medrano creates intrincate themes of philosophical images inspired by personal beliefs that seem to have motion of their own, influenced by his other artistic passion of computer animation . He depicts a world where balance is more important than simetry and images sometimes are not what they seem, where they extract the most controversial emotions on its viewers.
Medrano often uses pencil on canvas, a technique not commonly seen, perhaps due to the difficulties of this odd combination, but he takes the challenge.
Although he paints in color, his pencil on canvas has become his trademark.
